When Darkness Falls (Thought Post)

Good Morning Lovelies!

Ok so I know it isn't morning. Sorry! But My lack of creativity has been nearly nonexistent lately and I figured hey, whatever, I'll post whenever I get inspired. And I got inspired.... at nine o clock at night! It happens!
Originally I wasn't going to do such a dark post with this head, because it is the cutest thing EVER and deserves to be shown in all its beautiful glory, but I will get to that in another post.

*TRIGGER ALERT*

(Mental Health/ Depression)

Some of my very close friends know that along with the multitude of health problems I have, I also suffer from pretty severe depression. I wanted to talk about this a little bit because it is such a huge issue that not many people are aware of, or educated about.

Firstly, I want to get some facts out of the way:

• According to the World Health Organization, also known simply as WHO, one in four people will suffer from a mental health disorder at some point in their lives. One in four. That is not a big number guys!
• Approximately 450 million people currently suffer from a mental health condition which makes mental health disorders one of the leading causes of disability and sickness.
• Nearly two thirds of people who know they have a mental disorder never actually seek healthcare from a professional.

Another thing to keep in mind is the stigma around mental health. I don't care if you are a medical professional. Most of the stigma I have seen is within the walls of hospitals. So your medical degree doesn't make me think you don't have a stigma. If anything I may think you might have a stigma more. Having a mental health disorder does not make you 'crazy'. It makes you a person. Yes, some people don't have one... they are so lucky!

I wanted to make this post to talk about depression. To let someone who doesn't have it know how it feels. Depression is not something you can just 'snap out of.' It isn't 'feeling sad for awhile'. And it wont just 'go away'. It isn't something you can just 'get over'.  

Someone who has depression may feel different to another person having depression. Some may feel like they are a burden to others and that others would be better off without them. Others might feel un-included or very different. Others might feel laughed at or scared. Even others lonely or empty. Its not a one size fits all disease. Anyone can get it yes, but the symptoms are varying.

So... what should you do if you suspect a friend is struggling with depression? Look for the signs. Have they stopped talking to you? Have they stopped doing things they normally enjoy? Do they seem distant lately? Or sad? Do they suspect you of doing certain things that you haven't? Maybe things you have said or done have come across wrong. Don't let them suffer alone. Talk to them. Visit them if you can. That's the best option. But if you cant visit, even talking on the phone can help. Even if your silent. Do things with them. Even if you just sit in silence, it is much better then sitting alone. Trust me. Just sitting with someone who is depressed can mean the world and help them more then you know. One of the most important things you can do is educate yourself.

What do you do if YOU are suffering from depression? Reach out. It is a hard thing to do but ask for help. Friends, family. Call a therapist if you have one. Try to get one if you don't. And I cant stress this enough... if you are having suicidal thoughts... please, call the National Suicide Prevention Hotline. Its there for a reason.

Use it. It is okay to ask for help. It doesn't make you weak. If anything it makes you strong. 

Most of all, keep fighting. Depression is hard. But you aren't the only one who suffers.

Trying Something A Little Different

Good morning Lovelies! I am back. Please accept my apologies for being gone without much warning and for so long. First I was very sick and then I just couldn't get into blogging. I needed something different, something new and exciting. I really enjoy blogging. I do. But blogging every day can sometimes get a little boring. I also don't want my blog to be 'just another fashion blog'. There are way too many of those!

So what can I do about it?

Well, there's going to be a few changes coming. I will still do primarily fashion posts because I personally love fashion. But I also love music, interior design, exterior design, and I especially love roleplaying. Second Life is a wonderful place with so many things to offer and I am going to start blogging a multitude of things because I think I need to expand and broaden my horizons.

If you come here for my fashions, do not fret - like I mentioned before, I still will be a primarily fashion blog and will still showcase certain stores and and do a look of the day here and there. I'm just doing a little more as well.

As for posting, that will start to change a little bit too. In order to keep you guys interested and take quality photos and show actual creativeness, I will start to post a bit less. It was too much to do it so much. There will probably be a post every two to three days or so.

And finally, let me know what kinds of things YOU want to see on my blog. Keep in mind I do like to keep it PG 13 or so. Yes, sometimes I may talk about adult topics but I don't go into them much.

Today, I want to talk about a roleplay sim called Edge Of Ro. Keep in mind this is not a review. 

For a long time- five years actually I lived and breathed a different roleplay sim. A Harry Potter/Hogwarts sim. It was great and fabulous and I loved it so much. But interests changed, people changed and different agendas started to show. Suddenly I didn't feel welcome or included and for a long time I tried to continue going and fight through it but nothing changed. So I started to flit from RP sim to RP sim and I just couldn't find one where I felt I truly belonged. I missed playing at Hogwarts. So bad! Obviously the Hogwarts sim on SL wasn't an option since I felt so outcast, so I joined a forum and now have that to satisfy that part of me.

Now forums of course just don't match up to SL with visuals and actually making a character and putting them in situations. I still wanted that. There aren't many Harry Potter themed roleplays either. So what to do?

Well, I joined a couple midieval/fantasy sims. Now usually I am apprehensive about these sims. There are so many people to who make completely un-human avatars and that is a challenge for me. I'm always human in my avatars, I always will be. I usually roleplayed with only humans before and not fantasy creatures. Edge of Ro claimed to accept any race so at first I was scared. Were the majority of people going to be fantasy? I didn't know how I felt about that. But actually, the opposite is true. Sure there are some people with magic powers but it was a nice change for me. 

I also wanted a challenge for myself. Ive been roleplaying for five years and I wanted to become better. So, I made a character who doesn't speak the native language. This is certainly a challenge for me. It is a lot more talking with the body then the mouth which can be difficult. I am a little scared that it might be a challenge for people who roleplay with me as well, but I've roleplayed with quite a few people so far and it seemed to work well!

Alright, lets talk about the sim. Lets face it, if you don't have a great place for people to meet and roleplay your a bit screwed in Second Life. This sim is gorgeous! I've included of collage of outside areas in the photo up top and on the bottom there will be a collage of inside areas. On my flickr I will upload the full size photos. Please check them out here!

The roleplay sim is two sims and the story is a city surrounded on one side by a lush forest, and the other by a dry desert. There are a few midieval staples like a bathhouse which is so beautiful, a tavern, and of course a brothel for those who wish to play that out. There are shops scattered around, A library with a job board if your character is looking for a quick job and some roleplay. There is a dock and even air ships and air ship dock! How cool is that? There are also different dwellings that you can rent but be quick on your toes when you see an opening because there aren't many open slots and they go fast!

Okay, so you've got the place down now. Great! What kinds of people do you have?

Now I've been to roleplay sims and I have met many one liners. I am not one liner. I post paragraphs. I'm not going to knock on you if you post a line, but you wont keep my attention for along and definitely wont get much out of me in return. Quality of roleplay is huge factor in determining if I like a sim or not. I was pleasantly surprised to find that a lot of roleplayers here also are para posters. YAY! I have a couple friends who play part rabbit people from final fantasy and their characters are so cute! There's a sweet bartender who might take pity on you if you steal... or at least she did for me! Then again our characters share a past in a way. Then you could always run into the crazy bath house owner. She's beautiful but be careful, she might just set her bunny army on you!

Showcase: Serendipity - delicate

Good morning Lovelies!

So, I promised you all another showcase from Serendipity and here it is.

Usually Serendipity releases these awesome poses that show your avatar definitely doing something. But lately, I've been craving a more relaxed style, something a bit more toned down and casual. Now, I never asked the creator about this, but suddenly, here are three more relaxed poses. Poses to just stand and take a picture, Which to me, is great! Sometimes I like to be funky and and do silly poses, but I also like to relax at times. This pose set is called delicate, and you can only get it at the {Pose Lover} event that opens today and lasts for two weeks. Serendipity has got a few more sets there too, so be sure to check them out.

Now, this set - the dress, shoes, bracelet, clutch and even my drink are from REIGN.s gatcha at The Epiphany. event. You all know how much I love REIGN. and I went crazy.
The dress is a rare and it doesn't change color, which I thought it did when I saw the hud. But the cool thing about it is that it is actually a hud with the different bodies in it. So if you have maitreya, like me, you click the maitreya button and the dress almost magically changes into a fitted maitreya size. Its amazing! More stores need to do things like this!
Finally, remember how I said rezology is coming out with more hair? Here is a beautiful new one for you all. Just released last night. It is called Butterfly 116 and it really does make you feel as beautiful as a butterfly in it. It's got this beautiful curl that comes cascading down and *siiiigh* its great!

Not All Who Wander Are Lost (LOTD 4/15/16)

Good morning Lovelies!

I wanted to do something simple today. I hope you enjoy it! 

This pose is a new one from Serendipity and I really love it! It comes out for the {Pose Lover} Event that starts on the 18th and I will be showcasing one of those packs on Monday. 

-Pixicat- always makes amazing dresses. I love all of their clothes and they fit maitreya so well, especially now that they have fitted mesh for the most popular bodies. At first I didn't really like the dress. I don't know it just showed more skin then I was used to and I don't know, it just wasn't me. But gradually it grew on me and now I love it!

Memento. is a shoe company that has recently started to grow on me as well. I've sure you've seen them popping up at events every now and then and they are just great! They are right up there with my other favorite shoe stores like REIGN. and fri.day.
Finally, I want to tell you guys about the hair. As you know, I show rezology hair quite a bit and one of the reasons is that rezology releases so much hair! Which is great for people who love variety. Now, they just got a new blogging manager, who happens to be one of my best friends and I am so happy for her! But now that they have someone to manage bloggers, the creator can start working on some new hairs. And let me tell you... she definitely is! I will probably start showing only new hairs from them for a while. We will see, but most likely! So start saving up because I'm sure there will be some awesome ones coming! Even this one which is called Turn It Up is actually so sweet looking and I love it!

Finally, this sim. I've spoken about it before but Orchard Heights is my home. I love them! The people are so sweet and kind and the scenery is amazing! I really couldn't ever think of a better place to live on SL. I'm surrounded by my friends and family and am so happy!

Good Morning Lovelies! 

Another bright and lovely day! I have another showcase to show you! YAY! Serendipity Poses! Woohoo! I can never emphasize how much I love her poses. I really can't! They are so creative and look great from every angle and they don't move! She's got three sets in the Ross Event this month and I'm going to talk about one of them today. 

This one is called traveler and when I first saw it I felt like it was looking down at something curiously. I also wanted to go to the beach this morning, so I packed up my swim gear and camera of course and headed to the beach. Here I met this friendly heron! He wants to eat the fish, but I enjoy leaning over the boardwalk to look at them!

Good Morning Lovelies! 

Look at that, I'm on time today! And with another showcase like I promised you all!

These are the lolita tops from .Elysian. and they are cute. However they don't come in Maitreya sizes. They do come in XXS-L standard mesh sizes, physique, hourglass, isis, freya, and venus sizes. But no maitreya. So, if you use any of those other bodies you are in luck! I am wearing it with my maitreya body because I wanted to see how it would look and its fits okaaay, but its not a perfect fit.

The designs are adorable though and I can definitely see myself wearing this to the beach or for a nice summer day out.

Good morning Lovelies!

Hurray! I finally figured out how to do picture collages! No more bazillion images of the same dress in different colors. I know that was annoying! Now you can see them all in one spot. No scrolling required!

Now, the dress I am showing you today comes in so many colors as you can plainly see! This is from AvaGirl and I am so excited to show you all something from her store. Her clothes are adorable! Even if this dress isn't your cup of tea, check out her store because she has got clothes for every style. I mean it!

One of the things I love about this dress is that it is fitted for maitreya, and as you can see it is a beautiful fit. But what if you don't have maitreya? What if you have belleza, slink or a system body? No worries! The dress comes fitted for all of those, and if nothing fits still, which if it doesn't then you really need to fix your shape... but anyways, there are still fit mesh sizes! How cool is that?

This dress is also packaged in a way I love. Once you open it, you have different packages. Not in colors, but in the sizes. For example, lets take a look at the maitreya one. You would open that and there is your dress in maitreya one and maitreya two versions. I love that because all you have to open is the one that is for your body and you don't have all the other sizes clogging up your inventory!

My inventory is so messy I'm about to hire an inventory manager! If there is such a thing!

Sick Day (4/11/16)

King Of Anything (LOTD 4/8/16)

Good Morning Lovelies!

I promised I would show you the shoes from Flippant's One Fine Day Outfit and here they are!

Taking this picture made me miss the beach so bad! I used to go every summer even though it gave me such bad sunburn. But once I became an adult I just... I don't know! I just started doing adult things and the beach was too far a drive and I was too tired and had things and work to do.

Why is it that in our society, everyone wants to grow up. But once you get there... its not what you thought and you want to go back? Adults should be able to play and explore like little kids without fear of looking silly or failing at an experiment. You know I read in a magazine one time that you should just get lost with your significant other one day. Just drive without any intention of going anywhere and just take any turns you want to and see where you wind up. Now, I'm terrified of getting lost. I really am. Whenever I'm lost my anxiety spikes up like crazy and I almost can't breath. But lately, I've been wanting to get lost with my significant other. He makes me feel so safe and warm and secure. I don't get anxiety with him at all. Last month we took the train to a doctor appointment and I am terrified of public transportation. I didn't know where we were going, which stop to take, even which train to take! But he held my hand and carried me along with him and I actually enjoyed it! I think if I was by myself I would be terribly anxious but with him I had fun!

I'm not really sure where I was going with all that! Anyways, its Friday. Go out, have a little fun. Stop being such an adult for a little bit. Go out, get lost! Seriously! I'll be back on Monday, tell me all about your adventures!

I Want You To Stay (LOTD 4/7/16)

Good Morning Lovelies! I know I said yesterday that I would be showing you all a close up of the shoes from Flippants outfit from yesterday, and I will but inspiration struck last night!

For those of you who don't know, I am a waitress in Second Life. That is how I get my lindens. So last night I had a table and got some money so I went on a VERY overdue shopping trip where I got these flower things and this pose and was in love! I don't usually do nudes. I rarely even show underwear on my blog, but this is artful. This wont be an everyday thing of course, I try to keep my blog PG or PG 13 but I liked this a lot and wanted to share!

Now, I believe the place I went shopping is the Dreams Event. It is a cute sim with a lot of new up and coming designers and I got quite a lot of things which I will be showing you throughout the next week, so keep looking!

Finally, my hair is a just released new hair from rezology. From the front it is gorgeous, however from the side it seems oddly flat. If your thinking about getting it, I would try a demo first.

Showcase: Flippant - One Fine Day

Good Morning Lovelies!

Yesterday I showed you an outfit from Flippant for SWANK and I'm here to show you the other one. I also decided to add in the  Spring Fling nail polishes as they match so well!
I'm not in love with this photo. I was trying to tell a story and I think that part got misconstrued but I hope the shadows aren't too dark. That's the thing with SL pictures. You can never tell how it looks after you take it. Its not always the same.

I'm not going to bore you with my story, its got parts taken from snow white and rapunzel and blah blah blah! You see, that's what this outfit made me think of. At first I thought of a fine spring walk by the beach or along a small river bed. But I've done so many pictures by water and when I came here, I was just like yep, here is where I will take it. 

This skirt is a perfect skirt for spring. Its got the beautiful, breath-taking cool blue color, perfect for those first true rays of sun, the long skirt in case you have a bad case of either winter bear legs or winter ghost legs! The shirt ties at the bottom to keep it casual and its got a nice blue flower print that perfectly matches the skirt. The included shoes are more subdued in a soft brown that actually matches pretty well. I will probably wear these tomorrow just to give you a better look at them.

Now, lets talk sizes. First of all, I am wearing slink because I got the new update and honestly I've been too lazy to change! I couldn't sleep last night! But I wore it with my maitreya body yesterday and it worked perfectly fine. The skirt and the shirt comes in a fitted size and standard mesh sizes XXS - L. The sandals come in slink and I will definitely show you them tomorrow because they are super cute!

Now the nails are sold separately and called Spring Fling. I love them. They match this outfit in particular so well and come with appliers for slink, maitreya, and belleza. They come for both hands and feet.  I will leave a little picture at the bottom, but I am also wearing them for you to see.

Showcase: Flippant - Suntime

Good Morning Lovelies!

It is the beginning of a new month, so that means a new round for many, many events.  While I'm not an official blogger for The Swank Event, I am an official blogger for Flippant. And they are part of the monthly round up for Swank.

I have a couple outfits to show you, but today I am showing you one. I was going to show you the other one first, due to personal preference but I made a booboo with the new slink update and deleted my slink stuff so they wouldn't clog up my inventory when I got the new ones. But then the re-delivery terminal wasn't working and now I have no slink feet, body, or hands... Whoops.

But yeah, those of you who use slink, they just released a HUGE update and some new feet yesterday. So check it out. If you buy the fat pack, you get a really nice hud too. But only if you buy the fat pack, if you follow me on facebook you know how I feel about that, but we wont get into that here. The only reason I'm mentioning it is because a lot of Flippant shoes are for slink and Belleza. However, the creator is starting to use more maitreya shoes and YAY!

So, with that, lets start with the shoes! They do fit maitreya (YAY!), but they also fit slink and Belleza. The dress which I love comes in XXS - L standard mesh sizes. The belt has a resizer script in it, which makes things so much easier, so if it doesn't fit, just click it. Works like a charm! Another fun accessory included is the hair flower. Oh, I love it so much!

Alright, so don't forget this outfit is by Flippant and you can only get it at the Swank Event which starts April 7th, so you have time to save up and it runs until the 28th.

Good Morning Lovelies!

How was your weekend? Mine was full of power outages and wind and snow and come on nature its April! What are you doing?! I think Mother nature has got herself confused this year. It didn't snow until mid December and now it wont stop!

Anyways, I finally got enough L to go to The Project Se7en and that is where I found this beautiful amazing dress for =Zenith=.

Now the fair itself was actually a little hard to find if your not in the group. It is not in search and its not in the founders profile oddly enough. Seems like you'd have to join the group to get it. I went to one of the stores selling one of the items and bought the demo in store which thankfully came with the LM which of course I will share with you all. The sim itself, once you find your way there... its beautiful. But- I think it was made more for beauty then practicality. There are different 'platforms' for the items and to get to each 'platform' you either walk on one of the balloon bridges that yes, I love.. in a private place. Or, you walk on these little cloud step stool things that I was terrified of falling though but thankfully they must have hand an invisiprim under them. I really hope the balloon bridges had invisiprim walls because if they didn't. I'm sure many people have fallen to their deaths on opening day... RIP...

Anyways, build aside, there were many many beautiful things to buy. This dress was my top priority and at the time all I could afford! I assure you I am not one of the rich bloggers who can upload lindens and buy all sorts of things to make their pictures so beautiful! Nope... sweat and many many tears go into my pictures! Okay I lost track again.. the dress! Yes, this dress from =Zenith=, there are a few colors to choose from - pink, white, blue and a creamy yellow. Each has a plain version and a flowery pattern version. The dress only comes with one dress and a hud to change whether it is plain or flowery. It is fitted for maitreya so that is why there is one size. I actually prefer things that way. I really need to start slimming back down my inventory and having things with just one dress that is fitted for my body... that's all I need!

This hair is a new-ish release from rezology. It came out about a week or two ago and is I believe the creators first attempt with action styled hair. Most action styles hair either blows left or right, but this one is shown with being blown back. Which is a nice change. Now, I'm not saying that the hair moves. No, I've seen some of those and those are pretty cool. Not flexis but animated hair I think it is called. But no, this hair isn't that. This hair is still normal mesh, it is just styled in a way like it is blown. Mostly for pictures. But I still love it!

Showcase: Flippant - Dare To Dream Gift

Good Morning Lovelies!

You like free gifts, don't you? Who wouldn't like free gifts, right? Well, Flippant one of my favorite stores has a free gift in store only. On marketplace you'd have to shell out 129L for this amazing tattoo. So take a stroll down to the store and fetch if for free! This tattoo is amazing. It is a feather that breaks off into birds and curls around the shoulder. I do apologize if you cant see very well with the photo but I really was having a hard time because of where the tattoo is. Its one of those things where the only way you can capture its beauty is by seeing it in person or with a camera. This is one of those times I need a gif on my blog! Above the feather on the back it says Dare To Dream which I think is a good thing. Dreaming is the first step of getting somewhere right? The first step of doing what you want to do. Everything starts out as a dream.

Wondering if this tattoo will fit you? If you have a system body, maitreya body, slink, or even Belleza body, then yes. It will! There is no omega applier, so if you have some other kind of body then your out of luck, but those three are the top mesh bodies. Are there other female bodies. I'm not even sure!
